Ready for a BRIGHT spring.

Well, it's finally nearing the end of February and I'm ready for spring. The spring can surely offer some painfully overcast days, but why not break out the bright clothing anyway? Bright colors are something that will really thrive this spring. The main reason I know this is because recently we have been unpacking dozens (upon dozens) of clothing shipments at work. It is totally a blessing to stumble across a part-time job that allows you to sneak peek the new season's colors and ideas. Specifically, this weekend I was excited to round up excess cash (from under the couch cushions... in addition to lent and old skittles) to get something bright and spring-ish from the store! The pink and orange striped shirt (in photos) by Dex was the lucky piece that caught my eye. I never thought I was the type to become excitable when it comes to shirts (seems a bit trivial), but this shirt made me happy. I chose to pair it with my old man fedora hat and beaded earrings (from Anthro). You should definitely join me and indulge in the brightness! (You should also swing by Box Turtle  if you are in need of some local art friendly inspiration.)
 Love,

I (heart) these.

I've always been a sucker for stationary that I will never use, but I am especially obsessed with the clever stationary graphics made by Sugarboo Designs. I think that if I could choose Valentines cards to give to people, these are for sure the ones I would get! Above and below are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

haha!

Heart Shaped Food.

For reasons that are unknown, "Snow days" always seem stir up an excess amount of creative energy. Perhaps all of the subconscious ideas that we have suddenly surface when given a (surprise) day off. I mean, there really is not a valid excuse for saying, "I will do that project later".  Let's face it, I have all the time in the world. Apart from catching up on The Bachelor (ha,guilty), there is not a whole lot to accomplish today. This is why I decided to compose a random baking experiment. My mission: to make some freaking awesome blueberry muffins that look Valentines-ish. So, in effort to accomplish this goal I managed to stumble across a heart shaped muffin tin ("lost and found" in the archives of my mom's cabinets)....and I used this recipe. Although cooking experiments that I do seem to always be a matter of "winging it" and can at times be very scary (at least according to other people), it never fails to give me a weird little thrill. Also, I think i managed to muster up something worth while and I got to play with my camera! Basically, It was a win-win for Jordan Stokke.
Fancy Sh-mancy Muffin Tins....
I'm not entirely sure what I am doing!.....But, it's always worth a shot.
